Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras is absent from the starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon versus the Atlanta Braves.
Contreras will get a breather for the first time since the break, opening up the starting opportunity for Victor Caratini behind the plate on Wednesday afternoon.
For the season, Contreras is slashing .273/.339/.483 with 13 home runs and 48 RBI in 302 plate appearances (84 games). numberFire's models project him to record a .270 batting average with another 8 homers and 30 RBI in 228 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
