Colorado Rockies outfielder Ian Desmond is not in the starting lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night.
The Rockies have been riding Desmond in hopes that he'll find his power game again. However, Desmond has yet to do that, so it's probably a good time to give him a night off. Mike Tauchman will take over in left and bat seventh in Arizona.
Desmond has just 5 homers on the year after posting 22 a year ago. numberFire's algorithms project him for just 6 more dingers in addition to 27 RBI the rest of the year.
