Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Yasmany Tomas (groin) began a rehab assignment with the club's Arizona League team on Tuesday night.
It's unclear how many rehab games Tomas will need before he's activated but expect him to be back in the next week or so. The 26-year-old outfielder has been on the shelf since June 3.
Tomas is hitting .241/.294/.464 with a .319 wOBA through 180 plate appearances in 2017. He has 8 home runs and 39 RBI while striking out at a career-high 27.8 percent rate.
