The Chicago Cubs have placed outfielder Jason Heyward on the 10-day disabled list with a laceration on his right hand.
Heyward hurt his hand on Sunday, diving for a foul ball, and has not played since then. He will get some time to heal as the Cubs' have called up outfielder Mark Zagunis from the minors to take his place on the roster.
Heyward was hitting .258/.315/.399 with 6 home runs and 29 RBI in 217 plate appearances this season.
