The Texas Rangers have designated relief pitcher Sam Dyson for assignment.
Dyson started the year off as the team's closer but ended up blowing all four of his save opportunities. He had only nine, out of 17, appearances where he did not allow a run. With a career ERA of less than 3.00, the Rangers will likely be able to find a trade partner willing to a take a risk on the veteran reliever.
Dyson has a 10.80 ERA, 2.54 WHIP, and a 1-6 record through 16 2/3 innings pitched this season.
