Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black said starting pitcher Jon Gray (foot) would ramp up his rehab activity next week.
The Rockies will have Gray either throw a simulated game or live batting practice when they return home on Tuesday after the pitcher shed his walking boot and threw a bullpen session this past Sunday. The team is hopeful to have the 25-year-old right-hander back by the end of June. He's been out since April 12 with a stress fracture in his left foot.
numberFire's algorithms project Gray for 53 2/3 innings pitched the rest of the year, while posting a 4.36 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 45 strikeouts.
