Tampa Bay Rays infielder Matthew Duffy (Achilles) fielded grounders and took batting practice Friday.
Duffy had to slow down his rehab assignment earlier this week due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left Achilles. There's no word on when he'll be game-ready again, but it's a good sign that he's resumed baseball activities so soon.
As of now, numberFire's models project Duffy to record a .268 batting average across 229 plate appearances this season while hitting three homers, stealing three bases, and driving in 20 runs.
