Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward (finger) is beginning a rehab assignment with Low-A South Bend on Thursday.
Heyward should be able to return sometime this weekend for the Cubs. He hasn't played since May 5 due to a sprained finger. His return will move Ben Zobrist out of right field.
Heyward was batting .253/.333/.364 with three home runs and 17 RBI's in 111 plate appearances before the injury.
