Baltimore Orioles infielder Manny Machado is out of the starting lineup Thursday with a sore right index finger.
Ryan Flaherty will start at third base and hit seventh on Thursday as Baltimore matches up with right-hander Ryan Zimmerman and the Detroit Tigers. Machado's sore finger isn't believed to be a serious concern.
Machado owns a .224 batting average and .749 OPS in 172 plate appearances this season while hitting nine home runs and 23 RBI's.
