New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz (elbow) will throw in an extended spring training game on Saturday.
Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Friday that Matz could rejoin the rotation in early June if everything goes well during rehab. The 25-year-old left-hander has been out all season due to a strained flexor tendon.
numberFire's models currently expect Matz to twirl a 4.07 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 18.8 strikeout percentage in just 73 innings this season.
