The San Francisco Giants confirmed Friday that starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner is dealing with a Grade 2 shoulder sprain.
Tentatively, the Giants expect their star southpaw to return around the All-Star break. While the diagnosis hasn't changed, at least there now appears to be a clear timetable for his return. Fantasy owners can expect to have him back in the second half of the season.
Bumgarner was off to a rough start this season with a 0-3 record, 3.00 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 25.0 strikeout percentage in 27 innings (four starts).
