Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Felix Hernandez is headed back to Seattle to have his right shoulder examined.
Hernandez experienced shoulder fatigue during a rough outing Tuesday night against the Detroit Tigers in which he lasted just two innings and gave up four earned runs. According to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times, the 31-year-old right-hander "left the clubhouse quickly" on Tuesday and "was visibly upset."
Hernandez owns a 4.73 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 18.6 strikeout percentage in 26 2/3 innings pitched (five games) this season.
