Matt Carpenter was suspended one game by Major League Baseball for bumping into an umpire on Sunday.
Carpenter made contact with the home plate umpire Sunday after getting ejected for arguing a called third strike. The 31-year-old first baseman won't appeal the ruling. He was slated to hit second tonight against right-hander Marco Estrada and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Carpenter is slashing .236/.362./364 this season while hitting two home runs and driving in five scores across 69 plate appearances (17 games).
