St. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter (finger) is back in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Carpenter spent a couple of games on the sidelines after suffering a finger laceration, but he will be starting at first base and batting third for the Cardinals against Pirates' righty Gerrit Cole.
Carpenter is slashing .222/.362/.306 with a .307 wOBA through 47 plate appearances to start the season.
