Texas Rangers manager Jeff Bannister said after Sunday's 8-7 loss to the Seattle Mariners that he'd meet with his coaches to decide how they want to address their struggles in the ninth inning.
Bannister's comments are almost certainly directed right at Sam Dyson, who has now blown all three of his save chances this season following Sunday's latest failure. Jeremy Jeffress likely has a slight edge over Matt Bush to take over ninth-inning duties for Texas.
Dyson owns a horrendous 27.00 ERA through 4 1/3 innings (six appearances) this season while his 6.5 strikeout percentage is on a career-worst pace and well below last year's 19.3 percent clip.
