Clayton Kershaw dominates the Padres in Dodger's Opening Day rout

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw allowed just one earned run over seven innings Monday in the Dodgers' 14-3 Opening Day rout of the San Diego Padres.

What It Means:

Kershaw was at the top of his game, striking out eight while tossing only 84 pitches, 61 going for strikes. His only mistake was to Ryan Schimpf who hit a solo bomb in the seventh inning. The Dodgers' ace allowed only two hits while earning his first win of the season.

Our models project Kershaw for a big season with 17 wins, a 2.39 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 249 punchouts in 214 2/3 innings pitched.
