Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel will be the team's Opening Day starter, manager A.J. Hinch announced Friday.
Keuchel was battling a little shoulder issue last week, but he now feels great, evidenced by a 1.50 ERA over three Grapefruit League appearances. The 29-year-old left-hander will look to regain his 2015 form (2.48 ERA) in 2017 after regressing a bit last year (4.55 ERA).
numberFire's metrics believe Keuchel will spin a 3.58 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 21.3 strikeout percentage across 203 2/3 innings while going 13-11 this upcoming season.
