Outfielder Ian Desmond plans to turn down a one-year, $17.2 million qualifying offer from the Texas Rangers.
The Rangers will receive a compensatory draft pick if Desmond joins another club. He's marketing himself as an outfielder and shortstop.
The 31-year-old should be in for a nice payday after hitting .285/.335/.446 with 22 jacks, 86 RBI's, 21 stolen bags and 107 runs scored in 677 plate appearances last season.
