Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jered Weaver exited Monday's start against the Oakland Athletics after five scoreless due to lower back tightness.
Weaver let up just a single hit and handed out one walk while striking out three in the affair. Assuming the ailment is a non-issue, the veteran right-hander is in line to start for the Angels when they close out the season against the Houston Astros on Sunday.
Weaver has a 5.06 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 178 innings this season, both of which are career-highs for the 33-year-old hurler. His record stands at 12-12 (31 starts).
