Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is out of Monday's lineup versus the San Diego Padres.
Following a frustrating series against the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend (2-for-18, nine strikeouts), Goldschmidt will take a day off to regain focus. Kyle Jensen is starting at first. He will bat seventh while Brandon Drury moves into the three-hole.
For the year, Goldschmidt owns a .295/.412/.479 slash and .378 wOBA across 656 plate appearances. He has blasted 20 rockets, plated 97 runners and swiped 27 bags.
