Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Brad Miller (elbow) is back in the starting lineup Friday against the New York Yankees.
A sore right elbow forced Miller to exit Thursday's contest early, but he's in the lineup just a day later. Miller will serve as the designated hitter on Friday and could need to remain in that role for a few days. The Rays will use the newly-signed Alexei Ramirez at shortstop, while Logan Morrison will play first base. Miller is slashing .254/.311/.495 in 511 plate appearances this season.
Miller's 26 home runs and .341 wOBA this year are both easily career-highs. We project him to hit three more taters and post a .732 OPS over the remaining course of the season.
