Clayton Kershaw (back) made it through Friday's bullpen session without any issues and will progress to facing live hitters next week.
Kershaw continues to progress closer and closer towards a return to the Dodgers' rotation this season. If there's no setbacks in this next session, then he could be given the green light for a minor league rehab start. An early September return appears to be a legitimate possibility for the ace southpaw.
While Kershaw has dazzled with a 1.79 ERA and 32.9 percent strikeout rate through 16 starts this season, his (still outstanding) 2.26 SIERA is on pace to be the highest since 2013.
