Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier (leg) will begin a minor league rehab assignment for High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday.
Ethier has been sidelined all season after breaking his tibia during spring training, but this will be the last step in the 34-year-old's return to action for the Dodgers after participating in batting practice on Wednesday. However, the rehab assignment could be a lengthy one after such an extended absence. He'll join a Los Angeles outfield that features Howie Kendrick, Joc Pederson and Josh Reddick.
Ethier had one of his most productive seasons in 2015, recording a .366 wOBA and .192 ISO that were both his best marks since 2010.
