Boston Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez (hamstring) has announced that he will be ready to start against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday.
Rodriguez threw a simulated game on Tuesday and went all-out in a bullpen session on Thursday with no issues arising in his hamstring. Sunday will be his first start since the injury sidelined him on August 16.
Rodriguez isn't having a great season, with a 5.11 ERA and 4.55 SIERA that both represent steps back from his 2015 rookie numbers. He also owns a 20.4 percent strikeout rate and 8.2 percent walk rate through 68 2/3 big league innings this season.
