Oakland Athletics pitcher Sonny Gray (forearm) has not been ruled out for the season, per Athletics' manager Bob Melvin.
Gray has been out since August 8 with what was determined to be a muscle strain in his forearm. He has yet to resume throwing, so there's definitely still a chance that he misses the rest of the season, but there's also a remaining possibility that he can squeeze in some more action if his rehab goes well.
Gray had some great career numbers before this season, but is sporting career-worsts in ERA (5.74), SIERA (4.31), strikeout rate (18.13 percent) and walk rate (8.19 percent) on the year.
