The Houston Astros activated reliever Ken Giles from the paternity leave list.
Giles was away from the team over the weekend welcoming his child. He will retake his closer role for the Astros -- who are off Monday -- on Tuesday, in which the team opens a series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Giles owns a 3.69 ERA this season in 46 1/3 innings pitched.
The 25-year-old right-hander has posted an excellent 2.52 xFIP this year, to go with an outstanding 34.98 strikeout percentage (league average is 20.99 percent).
