Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is not in the starting lineup Monday against the New York Mets.
Manager Joe Maddon is choosing to go with a heavy right-handed lineup against Mets southpaw Steven Matz. Matt Szczur will start in right field, and Albert Almora Jr. will man center field on Monday. Heyward has been a disappointment this season -- both in fantasy and in real life -- slashing just .236/.327/.327 in 362 plate appearances.
Heyward also has just four home runs, eight steals and a .295 wOBA (league average is currently .318). Our models project him to hit .263/.345/.362 with three taters, 10 steals and a .316 wOBA over the rest of the season.
