Los Angeles Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis hit a go-ahead infield single in a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday.
Infield singles from Ellis are rare, but he made this one count. The 35-year-old roped one to the hole at shortstop in the fifth, capping off a four-run frame that proved to be the difference in the contest. Ellis finished 1-for-3 with a walk in the victory.
Ellis has a .210/.310/.280 slash in 119 plate appearances on the year. He remains off the fantasy radar.
