San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado is not starting in Tuesday's contest versus the San Francisco Giants.
Machado will rest on Tuesday night after Juan Soto was given designated hitting duties and Jurickson Profar was aligned in left field.
Per Baseball Savant on 434 batted balls this season, Machado has recorded a 10.6% barrel rate and a .253 expected average.
