Colorado Rockies infielder Elehuris Montero is not in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against right-hander Zack Littell and the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Rockies appear to be giving Montero a maintenance day. Michael Toglia will start on first base and Jurickson Profar will serve as the designated hitter in his return from an undisclosed injury.
Littell has an elevated 4.70 xERA this season and one of the worst hard-hit rates in the majors among qualified pitchers. However, per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Rockies still have the second-lowest implied total on Tuesday (3.34) at pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field.
