The Los Angeles Dodgers officially released outfielder Carl Crawford on Monday.
Crawford was designated for assignment on June 5th and no one was willing to deal. Los Angeles is eating the remaining $35 million in his contract.
The 34-year-old outfielder is hitting only .185/.230/.235 across 87 plate appearances this season and has had trouble staying on the field the last few years. He has no homers and only six RBIs on the year.
