X-rays on Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa's injured ankle came back negative.
Correa's been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle and is day-to-day. He suffered the injury running to first base Thursday against Texas. Jose Altuve finished the game at shortstop with Tony Kemp coming in to play second base. For now, it looks like Correa will avoid the disabled list.
Including Thursday's game, Correa is slashing .256/.351/.423 with eight home runs, eight stolen bases, and a .338 wOBA in 268 plate appearances this season. Our models project him to hit .260/.344/.460 with 15 home runs, 13 steals, and a .349 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
