San Diego Padres infielder Jake Cronenworth is in the leadoff spot for Tuesday's series opener against right-hander Sandy Alcantara and the Miami Marlins.
Cronenworth will move into the leadoff spot for just the second time this season while Fernando Tatis Jr. slides down to the two-hole. Juan Soto (back) will return to bat third and Xander Bogaerts (wrist) will be on cleanup duty Tuesday for San Diego.
numberFire’s models project Cronenworth ($2,900) for 11.3 FanDuel points on Tuesday. Tatis ($3,700) is projected for 10.9 FanDuel Points and Bogaerts ($3,100) is projected for 10.6 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Padres' implied total is 3.74 and the game total is 8.0. Alcantara is having a career-worst season since he became a full-time starter, but his numbers are still pretty fine overall. He has a 4.86 ERA (4.26 xERA), 21.6% strikeout rate, and 7.6% walk rate.
