The Los Angeles Dodgers will not start Will Smith in Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Smith will take the afternoon off as Austin Barnes covers for him behind home plate and hits ninth in the rotation.
Smith is off to a career-best start in 2022, batting .315 with a .953 OPS through 158 plate appearances. He has 7 homers, 26 runs, and 28 RBI so far.
