Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ allowed just one run and three hits over seven innings Thursday in a victory over the New York Yankees.
We could call this a renaissance for Happ, but that would suggest he was ever very good in the first place. His 16.28 strikeout percentage through 64 2/3 innings isn't particularly impressive, but he's getting a few more grounders and doing a better job of avoiding the home run ball than he used to.
Happ is 6-2 with a 3.20 ERA so far this year. He's currently striking out 5.85 batters per nine frames across 10 starts.
