Baltimore Orioles catcher Matt Wieters is out of the Orioles' starting lineup Thursday afternoon against the Seattle Mariners.
Wieters went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run on Wednesday night, but the 29-year-old backstop will take his scheduled day of rest in the matinee at Camden Yards. Caleb Joseph is starting at catcher and batting eighth versus Mariners' right-hander Nate Karns.
Wieters is batting .256/.309/.400 across 97 plate appearances this season. He's posting a .313 wOBA with three jacks and 13 RBI's.
