Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman/outfielder Alex Guerrero (knee) is set to begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with High-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Guerrero is finally ready for minor league games after needing close to six weeks to heal a knee bruise. The Cuban utility-man is probably going to be asked to play in at least 10 rehab games in order to get comfortable at different positions and get his timing right at the plate. We should see him in late May.
Our models currently project Guerrero to record a .224/.280/.382 line across 82 plate appearances with a .295 wOBA. We expect him to tally three jacks and 10 RBI's while stealing one base on the year.
