Texas Rangers infielder/outfielder Josh Smith is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against left-hander JP Sears and the Oakland Athletics.
Corey Seager will replace Smith at shortstop and hit second. Smith is 0-for-11 with three strikeouts in his last three games.
