Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant will undergo a precautionary MRI on his right ankle.
Bryant suffered a mild sprain of his right ankle while running the bases in the third inning on Thursday. The Cubs appear confident it's nothing serious, but we'll know for sure on Friday.
Early on, Bryant has drastically cut down his strikeout rate from 30.6 percent last year to 19.8 percent this season. Time will tell if he can sustain it. Bryant entered Thursday's game with a .368 wOBA and 4 home runs in 91 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to post a .357 wOBA with 25 home runs and 12 stolen bases in 641 plate appearances in 2016.
