The San Diego Padres did not list Manny Machado as a starter for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Braves.
Machado will catch a well-deserved breather Sunday as Robinson Cano makes his debut as a Padre. Cano will play second base and bat seventh while Jake Cronenworth moves to shortstop and Ha-Seong Kim covers third base.
Machado has been tearing it up so far this season for the Padres, batting .359 with a .1025 OPS through 148 plate appearances, with 7 home runs, 27 runs, 23 RBI, and 6 stolen bases.
