St. Louis Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said Sunday that pitcher, Jordan Walden will miss "a few months" after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 right lat strain.
Walden struggled to stay healthy last season with biceps and shoulder injuries, and he will once again miss extended time in 2016. Walden, 28, owns a 3.00 ERA and 266 strikeouts in 222 career major league frames. He was acquired from the Atlanta Braves in last year's Jason Heyward trade.
In 10 1/3 innings, he compiled a 0.87 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 10.45 strikeouts-per-nine and 3.48 walks-per-nine in 2015.
