The Seattle Mariners acquired reliever Nick Vincent from the San Diego Padres for a player to be named later.
Vincent is out of options and apparently wasn't going to make San Diego's bullpen. The 29-year-old spent a large chunk of last season in the minors, but he owns a 2.63 ERA with 9.6 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 over 161 appearances in the majors. He's a good pickup for Seattle.
Vincent threw 23 innings in relief last season, posting a 4.26 xFIP and a 22.0 strikeout percentage, above league average of 20.4 percent. We project him to post a 3.36 ERA and a 21.6 strikeout percentage in 2016.
