Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series opener against left-hander Ranger Suarez and the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Rockies appear to be giving McMahon a routine breather. Colton Welker is replacing McMahon on third base and batting sixth in what will be his first start in the big leagues.
numberFire’s models project Welker for 5.6 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Thursday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Rockies have an implied total of 3.7 runs, which is second-lowest in the majors on Thursday. Suarez is registering a 25.0 strikeout percentage and a 10.1 walk percentage this season, with a 2.79 xERA (top 8% of the league) and a .257 xwOBA (top 8%).
