The Chicago Cubs placed catcher Willson Contreras on the 10-day injured list with a right knee sprain.
The Cubs haven't indicated how much time Contreras is expected to miss. Austin Romine was reinstated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding roster move. Robinson Chirinos is catching for Kyle Hendricks and hitting seventh in Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Kyle Hendricks and the Chicago Cubs.
