St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against left-hander Caleb Smith and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Nootbaar is taking a seat following seven consecutive starts. Tommy Edman is replacing Nootbaar in right field and returning to the leadoff spot. Dylan Carlson is hitting second after leading off last game.
