Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez will start in Friday's series opener against right-hander Matt Harvey and the Baltimore Orioles.
Vazquez will catch left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez and hit sixth. Kevin Plawecki will be available off the bench.
