New York Mets pitcher Jake deGrom (beck) will not start in Friday's matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Mets will be cautious with their ace after deGrom experienced neck tightness. Walker Lockett appears to be a candidate to start for the Mets on Friday.
In nine appearances including four starts last season, Lockett recorded a 8.34 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 22.2 innings pitched.
