Boston Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has been shut down from baseball activities due to "minor complications" related to COVID-19.
Rodriguez didn't arrive to Red Sox camp until last weekend following a positive COVID-19 test. He threw a bullpen session on Saturday but this suggests the left-hander is still feeling less than 100 percent. Rodriguez could wind up contributing both as a starter and out of Boston's bullpen this season.
Operating under the assumption that Rodriguez makes his debut on July 30, numberFire's models expect him to record a 4.20 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with a 25.1 strikeout percentage this season.
