The Cincinnati Reds informed pitcher Nate Jones that he had won a spot in the team's bullpen for the upcoming season.
The team signed Jones to a minor league contract this offseason, but Jones impressed enough (and was healthy enough) to win a spot on the opening day roster. Here's hoping we can see a full, healthy season from the 34-year-old.
numberFire projects Jones for a 6.15 ERA with 12 strikeouts, 7 walks, and 2 home runs allowed in 2020, but the pitcher has a career ERA of 3.12 and could outperform those projections if he is healthy.
