St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Giovanny Gallegos has not been cleared to travel to join the team as summer camp gets underway.
There was an earlier report that said Gallegos was confirmed positive for COVID-19, but the team has since clarified that's not the case. The MLB's policy on the coronavirus is that teams cannot disclose positive cases without the permission of the player, so that's a consideration to take into account. In any case, we'll have to wait for a clearer update on Gallegos' status.
Our models currently project Gallegos for a 3.60 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP, 25 strikeouts and 5 walks across 20.0 innings pitched.
